Welcome to VCA Canada Bay Cities Animal Hospital
Since 1971, VCA Canada Bay Cities Animal Hospital has been proudly serving pet owners and their beloved companions in Burlington and the surrounding Halton and Hamilton communities. Conveniently located at 3001 New Street, our hospital is easily accessible from across the city, with close proximity to both Burlington GO Station and Aldershot GO Station. Whether you're traveling by car or public transit, our clinic is well-connected via Burlington Transit Routes 2 and 3 (Brant/Guelph), Route 4 (Central), Route 10 (New–Maple), and other major lines, making it simple to reach us from anywhere in the region.
Our location in Burlington’s south-central corridor, within the Roseland community, places us near a variety of residential neighborhoods, schools, and local amenities—making it easy to incorporate your pet’s care into your daily routine. With quick access from New Street, Guelph Line, and Lakeshore Road, we’re ideally situated for families throughout Burlington and nearby areas like LaSalle, Aldershot, and Brant.
We’re also the closest VCA location to some of Burlington’s most recognized and scenic landmarks, including Spencer Smith Park, Brant Street Pier, and the Royal Botanical Gardens—a reflection of the vibrant, pet-loving community we’re proud to serve.
At Bay Cities, we’re more than just a veterinary clinic—we’re a long-standing part of the Burlington community. From wellness exams and diagnostics to dental care, surgery, and more, our experienced team is here to provide personalized, high-quality veterinary care in a warm and welcoming environment. We’re proud to support generations of pet owners with trusted care and a commitment to your pet’s lifelong health and happiness.
Our hospital’s compassionate and expert medical team has years of experience in companion animal medicine. Their goal is to partner with you to provide the most comprehensive and best quality medical care to ensure your pet lives a longer, healthier, and happier life. Our facility is also privileged to have a highly skilled support staff as part of our team. Our registered veterinary technicians are an integral part of the quality care your pet receives during a brief visit, or an extended hospital stay. Our client care specialists are highly-trained professionals, and they all are primarily concerned with the health of your pet and providing you with outstanding client service.
Our hospital is active in the community through its 30 year history of participation in the OVC Pet Trust Fund, the Farley Foundation, and the Ontario Safe Pet program. The charities function to contribute to animal medical research, provide medical care to pets in need, and provide safe haven for pets of abuse victims. More recently Bay Cities is proud to have become an active participant in the Pet Pantry, a pet ‘soup-kitchen’, as well as Paw It Forward. You can read more about Paw It Forward here.
If you have questions or concerns about your pet, please don’t hesitate to contact us. We look forward to meeting you and your pet and to serving you both for many years to come.

FAQ
Do veterinary clinics accept walk-ins or are appointments required?
VCA Canada Bay Cities Animal hospital primarily operates by appointment to ensure each pet receives dedicated time and attention, but we do accommodate urgent walk-ins when possible.
Our team prioritizes emergencies and time-sensitive cases, and we encourage clients to call ahead so we can prepare appropriately. Same-day appointments may be available depending on capacity.
Understanding appointment policies helps you plan routine care efficiently — and ensures your pet receives timely attention when it matters most.
Will my pet see the same veterinarian at each visit?
While we have a team-based approach, VCA Canada Bay Cities Animal Hospital strives to schedule your pet with the same veterinarian whenever possible for consistency and comfort.
Our medical records are fully integrated, so every team member has access to your pet’s history, preferences, and treatment plan — ensuring seamless care even if a different vet is needed.
Continuity builds trust and allows for more personalized care, especially for pets with chronic conditions or anxiety around vet visits.
Does my pet need vaccines?
Yes, core vaccines are essential for all pets, while additional vaccines may be recommended based on lifestyle and exposure risk.
At VCA Canada Bay Cities Animal Hospital, we follow Canadian veterinary guidelines to create personalized vaccination schedules that protect against rabies, distemper, parvovirus, and more.
Vaccinating your pet not only protects their health but also helps prevent outbreaks in the Burlington community and may be required for travel or boarding.
